Musiespaña Opera

Musiespaña, a leading artist-management group in the field of classical music in Spain, is to launch Musiespaña Ópera, a new line of services devoted to operatic events and activities with which the company aims at further strengthening its foundational goal of supporting and promoting Spanish vocal performers and orchestra conductors, while reiterating its firm conviction of the extraordinary value and competitiveness of Spanish artists.

Since its creation in 1989, Musiespaña has been particularly active in the field of vocal music, and has collaborated with a long list of distinguished performers who are now part of the modern history of opera: Teresa Berganza, Montserrat Caballé, José Carreras, Alfredo Kraus, Peter Schreier, Cheryl Studer, Pilar Lorengar, Victoria de los Ángeles, Joan Pons, Renata Scotto or Gundula Janowitz. Other artists of renown who in recent times have swelled the company’s ranks include Nancy Fabiola Herrera, Cristina Gallardo-Domâs, Raquel Lojendio, Clara Mouriz, Cristina Faus, Marina Pardo, Elena de la Merced, Carlos Mena, Gustavo Peña, Agustín Prunell-Friend, Alfredo García, César Gutiérrez, Josep Miquel Ramón or Juan Antonio Sanabria. In the area of opera conductors, Musiespaña represents leading directors such as Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos, Juanjo Mena, Guillermo García Calvo, Pablo González, José Ramón Encinar, Günter Neuhold, George Pehlivanian, Antoni Ros Marbà, Dennis Russell Davies, Pinchas Steinberg, Maximiano Valdés, Jordi Bernàcer, José María Moreno or Andrés Salado, among a host of others.

In launching Musiespaña Ópera, executive president and founder of Musiespaña, Humberto Orán, has enjoyed the expert support and co-operation of Emanuele Destrini, a well-known manager of cultural affairs who specialises in operatic events. Destrini graduated in Music and Performing Arts at the University of Bologna in 2005, and completed his training in Business and Cultural Institution Studies at the University of Salamanca (2009) and in Communication, Music and Performing Arts at the Instituto Complutense de Ciencias Musicales (Complutense University of Madrid, 2012). Since 2001, Emanuele Destrini has worked for the Teatro Comunale, in Bologna, the Teatro Lirico Sperimentale “A. Belli”, in Spoleto, and the Accademia d’Arti e Mestiere dello Spettacolo at the Teatro alla Scala, in Milan, in the areas of communication and production, respectively. From 2005 to 2013 he was in charge of the Communications Department at Cuibar Productions, S. L., a company whose president is José Cura.
