    El conductor de orchestra Andrés Salado ha sido galardonado con el Premio Princesa de Girona de las Artes y las Letras 2016, según anunció esta institución en un acto celebrado el 17 de marzo en el Patio de la Infanta, en Zaragoza. Salado comparte ex aequo el premio con la poeta Elena Medel. El jurado ha reconocido "la calidad técnica y el carisma y capacidad comunicativa de Salado".

    La cantante española Nancy Fabiola Herrera regresa a Madrid, ahora con su debut en el emblemático papel de la Principessa d’Éboli, una de las protagonistas de la ópera Don Carlo, de Giuseppe Verdi. La cita es en los Teatros del Canal los días 28 de febrero y 2 y 5 de marzo, un montaje que marca el debut del conductor teatral Albert Boadella en el campo de la ópera. «La verdad es que se trata de un personaje fascinante», afirma la mezzosoprano, «y hacía años que tenía planeado incorporarlo al repertorio. Y ahora se ha dado la ocasión, en un montaje inteligente y sensible que ya pudo verse este verano en El Escorial».

    Le 8 octobre la mezzo madrilène María José Montiel a été éblouissante. Elle a exprimé le caractère complexe de son héroïne beaucoup plus par la qualité de son chant que par la provocation du geste imposé par le metteur en scène. Son timbre obscur a souligné l’aspect mystérieux de la gitane, la précision de son chant le caractère bien trempé du personnage. Sa ductilité vocale a traduit l’obsession de Carmen pour le désir de conduire sa vie sur des voies non tracées à l’avance. Sa maîtrise des transitions entre le fortissimo et le piano, a montré la capacité d’adaptation du personnage aux circonstances à tout instant ; par son émission puissante María José Montiel a mis en relief la capacité de Carmen à tenir tête à la violence des chefs de bande – Remendado et Dancaïre magistralement interprétés par Francisco Vas et Marc Canturri- privilégiant par moments, et contre leurs intérêts, l’amour aux affaires. Finalement c’est par l’ensemble bien dosé de toutes ces caractéristiques vocales et par sa présence en scène, que María José Montiel a transmis au public la sensualité et le pouvoir de séduction de la célèbre gitane.
