Perfil
Born in Bremen in 1978, Nils Mönkemeyer studied at the Hochschule für Musik in Munich with Hariolf Schilichtig and at the Mozarteum in Salzburg with Veronika Hagen.
He has won several awards in different international contests as the prize for soloist and chamber music at the Europäischen Klassikfestival in Ruhr, Fisrt Prize in the Primrose International Viola Competition, First Prize in the International Viola Contest of the ORF in Vienna, Prize in the National music Contest in Germany, Echo award, Banca Monte del Paschi prize awarded by the Accademia Chigiana in Siena and first prize at the International Viola Contest Yuri Bashmet in Moscow, where he also obtained the special award to the best concert by Schnittke and the special prize to the best artist.
